From Newtown proceed on the A489 towards Llanidloes and after approximately 6 miles immediately before the level crossing turn right onto the A470 signposted Caersws. Proceed through the villages of Caersws, Pontdolgoch, Clatter and Carno. After leaving Carno proceed for a further approximate mile and then turn right immediately after passing a stone barn conversion on the same side. Proceed along this road through Glanhanog Farm and pass through the gate, continue passing a handful of houses on the righthand side. Proceed through the next gate and onto the forestry hardcore road. Continue until you reach the next gate and pass through. Once in the forestry continue for approximately half a mile where a signpost indicates a left hand turn down to Ffos Ddu.
