Welshpool Livestock Sales

Morris Marshall & Poole are Partners in one of the largest livestock markets in Great Britain – Welshpool Livestock Sales, with members of our Agricultural team selling livestock there each week. In 2008, work on its redevelopment began a mile away from its original base on a 16 acre site on the outskirts of the town and in November 2009 the new multi-million pound Livestock Marketing Centre now being home to Welshpool Livestock Sales was completed and opened. Transforming the future of trading, the livestock building extends to 3.25 acres and is capable of holding in excess of 1,200 cattle and 15,000 sheep.

Conducting weekly Monday sales of prime lambs, prime cattle, cull ewes, cull cows, plus store lambs and breeding ewes. With fortnightly sales of dairy cattle, cows and calves and store cattle the market attracts buyers from all over the country, annually selling in excess of 500,000 sheep and 10,000 cattle.

The Welshpool Livestock Sales team can also provide clients with specialist facilities and advertising needed for in house dispersal, reduction or production sales.

Further to this in recent years the market has sought to diversify from its traditional livestock roots with the introduction of its private function facilities for events and conferences and through our two annual machinery sales, which held every Spring and Autumn, one on site and the other located at Coed-y-Dinas, on the outskirts of Welshpool.
