First-time buyers struggling to save a deposit could soon have their own place called home with the launch of a development of properties in Welshpool, Powys.
Mid Wales and Shropshire estate agents Morris, Marshall and Poole with Norman Lloyd, in conjunction with Mid Wales Housing Association, will soon be offering a range of houses at Clos Gungrog as part of the Welsh Government’s ‘Rent to Own’ scheme.
The scheme allows tenants of rented properties to save for a deposit while they are living in them before securing a mortgage to buy the property.
The development at Clos Gungrog is being constructed by Pickstock Homes and includes three four-bedroom houses, a two-bedroom detached bungalow, six three-bedroom semi-detached houses, and four two-bedroom, semi-detached houses.
Rent to own your home
“This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to get on to the property ladder,” said Bryan Jarman, a Chartered Surveyor at MMP/NL.
“All the properties will have gas fired central heating and uPVC double-glazed windows. They also have generous gardens and parking facilities.”
He added: “At this stage we are inviting potential applicants to register their interest in a property. We will be holding a launch event in the New Year where interested parties will have the opportunity to learn more about the development and the rent to own scheme.”
Anyone who wants to express an interest can contact Bryan Jarman or Sarah Breeze at Morris, Marshall and Poole with Norman Lloyd’s Welshpool office on 01938 554818 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
