2018 Montgomeryshire Village Award launched
Morris Marshall and Poole are, once again, sponsoring the
Campaign for the Protection of Rural Wales 2018 Montgomeryshire Village Awards,
formerly known as The Best Kept Village award. The idea is to promote the
excellent community spirit in some of the prettiest villages in the area as
well as the neat presentation of these communities. All the different clubs,
associations, schools etc are invited to pool their resources in their
presentations to the CPRW judging panel which will be visiting the entrant
villages through July and August, unannounced.
The last winners, Berriew, hosted a very pleasant launch
evening in February which was attended by most of the villages where Berriew
kindly gave out a few ‘tips’ as to how they had secured the trophy, proudly
displayed at the centre of the village! They gave out lots of ideas but we are
sure they kept a few golden tips back! We also heard from Mr Jonathan
Wilkinson, Portfolio holder for Housing for Powys CC, the Chair of the CPRW Christopher
Fuller and Jill Kibble, MVA organiser.
Partner, Andrew Turner said ‘ This is a brilliant initiative
which we wholeheartedly support. There is nothing better than your local estate
agent being able to quote that the village has secured this prestigious award
when discussing your property with potential buyers!’
Winners are due to be announced towards the end of the year
and will be announced on our social media and in the local press.
Good Luck everyone!
